Who are Labrador Builders?

Building and renovating traditional green New England homes is the heart of this company.  We achieve this using many different energy efficient techniques and through inspiration from our rural Vermont landscape.

Green building is not a buzzword or a marketing tool to Labrador Builders.  It is the way we think about our work, involving every stage from the design process through to the fine finish work.  Our philosophy is that the best way to build green is to build smaller and smarter, creating a home that is timeless and will last.  Here, the design process becomes critical.  An efficient floor plan with well thought out spaces can produce a smaller footprint that feels large.  Smart building uses simple and efficient techniques such as advanced framing to reduce the amount of lumber and buying pre-cut studs and joists to save time.  This in turn saves on costs, waste, and energy during the construction phase as well as the lifetime of the home.

New England architecture is important to Labrador Builders and influences our designs.  We believe that traditional homes, such as capes, are the original 'green' houses because of their small footprints and simplified construction.  We combine today's technologies with yesterday's experience to create a comfortable, modern green home. 

Our goal is that every finished product is an efficient, easy to maintain, healthy home that preserves the history and character of our beautiful Vermont landscape.
